Want to keep track of all the important birthdays? Super! Here’s a pretty birthday tracker printable to do so. And hey! There’s also an eye-opening exercise you do with it! Be sure to check it out!

If you would have to write down the birthdays of the people in your life, whose birthdays do you know?

(And no, you can’t peek from Facebook nor from your calendar.)

Who would be on your list?

I was thinking about this a little while ago and I bunped into this quote:

“A true friend remembers your birthday without Facebook reminder.” -Occasion Cheers

And it inspired me to create today‘s printable – a pretty birthday tracker printable with an eye-opening exercise you can do with it.

I hope you like it!

Birthday Tracker {Free printable}

So today’s printable is a pretty birthday tracker.

It comes in 5 different colors and there’s a section for each month and you can write down the birthdays you’d like to remember. This printable is a great addition to your planner or home management binder.

There are two ways to use the birthday tracker printable:

The first one’s the (way too) easy way.

1. When you write down the birthdays to your birthday tracker, you can just go through your calendar and Facebook…

OR

2. You could try to write them down first from your memory and do a little exercise.

So wait before you start going through your calendar and Facebook and challenge yourself a bit.

I think it’s a fun little exercise to do and quite eye-opening too!

Little exercise to do with the birthday tracker

This is a very easy and quite eye-opening exercise you can do with the birthday tracker printable.

1. First print out the birthday tracker (scroll down to find the download link in this post) and take a pen (and don’t peek your calendar or Facebook!)

2. Then try to remember all the birthdays of the people dear to you and write them down.

3. And now analyze a little

  • Whose birthday did you write down first?
  • Are they someone you celebrate their birthdays with?
  • Are they the ones you remember with a card or a little gift?
  • Is there someone whose birthday month you remember but not the exact date?
  • Who’s missing from the tracker?
  • Who would you like to add on the tracker?

4. And after you’ve written the names and dates on the birthday tracker printable think about this:

  • Are these the people who would remember your birthday?
  • Would your name be on their birthday tracker?

True friendship goes both ways…

Psst! And this exercise is supposed to be fun and a bit eye-opening. So if it makes you feel weird or sad or bad there are a few notes I want to share with you. Plus an extra tip!

Important notes and an extra tip

1. If you know someone’s birthday it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re important.

I still know my childhood friend’s birthday even though I haven’t talked to her for about 25 years. She was important to me then and I still remember her with warmth in my heart, but she doesn’t need to be on my birthday tracker. Same applies to your tracker.

2. Don’t worry if you don’t know someone’s birthday who’s very important to you.

My spouse forgot my birthday last year and he’s always been super good at remembering them. He was just so stressed at the time that I was happy if he remembered to put on his shoes when he left the house (side note – we don’t wear shoes in the house, but we don’t mind if our guests do – I guess it’s a Finnish thing, not sure.). Anyways. This year he was back to himself and arrange the most wonderful birthday celebration for me. (Hmmm…maybe he has his own birthday tracker he’s not telling me about…).

So if you don’t know someone’s birthday who’s very important to you, it’s ok. You can find it out now, and be extra prepared for their next birthday.

3. If you add people on your tracker that never remember your birthday then maybe the relationship is a bit off balance.

Don’t do anything hasty like defriend them or unfriend them (whatever the right word is).

Maybe this year you could add a little asterix *) next to the name of all the people who remembered you on your birthday.

And then next year when you’re stressing about remembering someones birthday and if there’s no *) next to the name, you can stress a little less.

EXTRA TIP!

And when it’s your birthday and someone remembers you with a nice card or a gift, maybe that’s a good time to add them to your birthday tracker and return the love when it’s their birthday.
