Want to be more organized and productive? Do these 7 things on Sundays to have the best week ever.
Weekends go by so quickly and before you know it, it’s already Monday. If you want to be more organized and productive the week to come I’ve listed 7 things to do on Sundays that ca help you have the best week ever.
They are simple but very effective and fast to do, and you’ll thank yourself later if you keep doing them.
And there are even cute weekly list printables that will help you plan your best week ever.
So let’s dive right into the 7 things to do on Sundays for the best week ever.
1. Check the weather for the week
Weather is the one things we can’t do anything about so check the forecast for the week so you’ll know if there’s going to be some surprises that might rock your schedule.
Also when you plan your clothes for the week, you’ll know which kind you’ll be needing. This is a simple thing, but might make a huge difference to your week.
2. Check that you have enough clean clothes for the week
After checking the weather you’ll know what kind of clothes you’ll be needing the next week. Check that you have enough clean clothes for the week and if not, this is the perfect time to do the laundry.
If you want to be even more productive, then organize your closet. I can’t think of anything nicer than seeing an organized closet on Monday mornings.
Note: When you organize your closet make sure you won’t start decluttering, because you’ll get distracted and there are still other things to do.
If later (when you schedule the time for it) you want to declutter, you might like one of my decluttering articles, like this one: How to declutter in the simplest way possible
3. Clean out your purse and bag
Third thing of the 7 things to do on Sundays is to clean out your purse and bag.
- Empty both your purse and bag.
- Check that there’s no stains and clean both if needed.
- Throw away all the trash, and receipts you don’t need to archive, and put the loose change where you keep them.
- Take the unneeded items that you had in your bag – but don’t want to carry them around the following week – to their right place.
- Place the things you do want to have in your purse and bag back in them.
Note: Some people do this purse and bag cleaning and organizing every day, and I can’t tell you how much I admire them and would like to one day be one of them, but if you’re anything like me, then this kind of weekly cleaning is already a good start.
4. Go through you calendar and create a to do list
Now that you’re all set with the clothes and your purse and bag it’s time to do the next things of the 7 things to do on Sundays -list.
Now go through you calendar and check what kind of events, meeting and appointments you have scheduled for the week to come.
And more importantly note if you have some appointmens, meetings or other events coming up that might affect your normal weekly routine.
Add tasks on your to-do list and schedule those tasks.
I think Peter Turla has said it the best:
“A plan is what, a schedule is when. It takes both a plan and a schedule to get things done.”.
Check that you have scheduled enough time to do everything but also to have enough time to rest and relax. If the week feels like it’s too packed try to rearrange some appointmens or to postpone some tasks.
This is also the perfect time to plan the dinners for the week and check your budget.

5. Clear out your email
When you plan your week it’s also good to clear out your inbox.
- Check if there are some emails that need to be answered, or schedule answering to them for the next week.
- Purge the emails you don’t need to read and trash or achieve the ones that you already did read.
- Try to achieve inbox zero, but if you have hundreds or even thousands of emails, then leave the decluttering for another day.

6. Choose 3 goals
Now that you’re all organized for the best week ever let’s make it even better.
Choose three goals you want to achieve during the week.
They can be anything.
- Like cleaning the garage
- organizing the best birthday party for your son or daughter
- finishing a part of a project
- learning something new
- finishing the book you started…
And when you’ve chosen the three goals you want to achieve then choose one of them that you feel is the most important one to you and prioritize that one.
Long-term goals are important, but even more important are the mini-goals – the short-term goals. They make you feel that you actually accomplished something and they guide your daily tasks and weekly priorities.
So what’s your one mini-goal you want to achieve the next week?
And hey, there’s one more thing you need to do! And it’s maybe the most important one.
7. Take some time for yourself
The last thing of the 7 things to do on Sundays for the best week ever is maybe the most important. Actually let me refrase that. It IS the most important, because you are important.
The last but not the least thing to do is to take some time for yourself.
Do whatever makes you happy:
- Take a bath
- Read a fun book
- Watch your favorite tv-show
- Or do nothing. (I love doing nothing!). But just make sure it’s some quality “you-time” that will energize you and bring you joy.
You are always doing so many things to others. So remember to do things for yourself too.
Take some me-time and charge up your energy tanks so that you can continue doing all those other things on your plate.

I like your ideas. The freebies are great. I only have one issue…. When I open a different webpage then want to reopen this webpage it immediately goes back to the top and I have to scroll all the way through the page to find where I was. Maybe instead you could just have a page with links in categories- monthly calendars, checklists, weekly calendars etc etc
I think it would make the site much more user friendly. Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you so much for your comment and I’m so happy you like my printables.
And I’d love to make my site more user friendly, but I’ve been having a lot of trouble with the technical side of things – when I try to fix it one way it gives trouble in a different part of the page 😀
I like your ideas on how to develop my site and I hope that some point I have enough income that I can hire someone to help me with the technical side of things. For now, I’m still a one-woman show, but I’ll put this on my to-do list!
Thank you again for your feedback – I really appreciate it!
