“A goal without a plan is just a wish” is one of my favorite quotes by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. And he is so spot-on when it comes to planning, setting and achieving your goals.

So I’ve created for you two pretty AND practical printables that can help you plan, set and achieve your monthly goals:

1. Monthly goals sheet to focus and set mini goals and follow the progress

2. Monthly calendars

These monthly goals planner sheets help you easily plan, set and achieve your monthly goals.

You can add them to your planner/binder or use them as-is. I hope you like them as much as I loved creating them for you!

5 steps to set and achieve your monthly goals

When I set my monthly goals I use a simple method with action steps to make sure I won’t just be setting goals but also having the possibility to achieve them.

And these are the steps:

  1. Choose your focus
  2. Set 3 goals (that could be achievable in one month)
  3. Divide each goal into action steps (that will help you and lead you to achieve your 3 goals)
  4. Follow your progress
  5. Write down some ideas of fun things and/or rewards you can look forward to so it’s easier to stay motivated.

Super simple! Isn’t it? And next I’ll walk you through each step.

I always recommend writing down your goals. When you write things down you will have a better chance to stay committed and motivated.

So you can take a piece of paper, draw it in your bullet journal or planner or you can use my printables. If you rather draw this yourself – check out the images for inspiration!

The first thing you’ll need to do is to choose your focus.

1. Choose what you want to focus on

What are you hoping to achieve this month?

Think of the bigger picture. You have something you’d like to achieve in the long run. This “focus of the month” should be something will help you get there faster.

Psst! If you have some bigger and more “difficult” goal you want to achieve you might like the post 10 step method to achieve your goals.

2. Choose 3 goals

After you’ve written down what you want to focus on, choose 3 mini-goals – not more. You can only do so much and if you scatter your focus all over the place most likely you won’t achieve what you want to achieve.

3. Come up with small action steps

Now it’s time to write bite-sized action steps that’ll help you achieve your mini-goals. Each step and task should be something you can execute. If it feels too overwhelming, break it into an even smaller step.

4. Follow your progress

Draw a checkbox next to each action step and even under each set of action steps and color those little squares whenever you’ve finished with each task and see how you’re progressing with your goals.

5. Don’t forget to have fun and reward yourself

Create a space for fun things and rewards!

Write down what fun things and which rewards you’ll provide yourself once you’ve achieved your goals! Remember that the journey to success should be enjoyable too!

You can download the monthly goals mini planner at the end of this post.

How to use the calendar sheets with your monthly goals template

I like to be able to see the whole month at-a-glance when I create my plans to achieve my monthly mini goals.

With the monthly calendar sheets you get to glance your monthly plans quickly and see if some weeks look too full or empty, or you can use the calendar view to write down your plans.

I like to use these kinds of monthly sheets when I plan for my blog posts. It’s like an editorial calendar. I also like to use one for my personal plans and another one as a small happiness diary.

  1. So helpful – especially with the New Year just around the corner. I have a lot of goals I want to put into place and this makes it easier. Thanks so much for the print-out!

  2. Hi. I did download the goals sheet. But I wanted to let you know that some links to the goals sheet still produced the planner. However, since I wanted to read your entire post I found more links and finally got one to the goal sheet.

I will use (and NEED) the goal sheet for my blog. It seems as if there are so many tasks other than writing that I just can’t seem to keep up with. And I also seem to forget what I already did! I.E. Did I post on Pinterest yet? When did I last post to Twitter?

    Anyway, thanks!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Alex. I’ve fixed all the links and all the printables can be found free in my resource library. And I know the feeling of trying to keep up with all the tasks with blogging. It’s a lot! But I’m so happy to hear if these printables will help you stay organized.

  3. Really well done. I like the actual printable design but also how you’ve written the blog itself. I bet a lot of people are drawn to this. Great job!

  4. I love these! I was just telling my husband yesterday that I need to start planning my days out because I have been super busy lately. These will help tremendously!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Erica! Hopefully you’ll find good options for your planner from my printables. You can always mix and match and create the perfect planner for your needs.

    1. Hi Holly,

Thank you so much for your comment and your kind words! I’m so happy to hear you like the pink and white and the design. These are one of my favorites too! And I can’t tell you how glad I am that you left this comment! I’ve been meaning to share the 2020 calendar and it’s been on my to-do list for weeks and the time just flies. But now I’ll get to it and hopefully, in a few days, I can share it. I’ll let you know here in the comments when it’s available!

Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend!

    2. Hi again, Holly!
The pink and white calendar for 2020 can be now found in the SaturdayGift Printables Library! Again, I’m so happy you left your comment because I had totally postponed sharing these calendars for way too long. And because I was feeling so happy, I wanted to make these printables also in another pretty color (both the calendar and the worksheets). If you’d like to check them out you can find the new version from this post. What do you think?

  5. Hi Christina,
I am new to your site and I love it! I am looking for a monthly sheet that I can track my monthly payments with a space for the amount and the date paid and a box to tick.
Monthly bills like Mortgage, Electricity bill, water bill, life insurance, etc. Do you have anything like that?

Also want to track my weekly purchases at the grocery.

Thanks for all your great work and creativity
    Jan

    1. Hi Jan-Marie,

Thank you so much for your comment and for your kind words!
Unfortunately, I don’t yet have expense trackers but the monthly bill tracker is on my to-do list!
And I like your idea to track weekly purchases at the grocery, so I need to do a little digging and thought-work to see what kind of printable I could make of that!

I love getting ideas from my readers and printable users. I can’t promise anything but I’ll keep this in mind when I plan for my next designs!

      Sincerely,
      Cristina

  6. Thanks so much for this monthly goals planner! I do like it a lot. It would also be nice if you update it a little to minimize and simplify.
    Cheers!
    Anne

    1. Thank you for your comment, Anne! I’m so happy if you like the planner and find it helpful. I have on my to-do list to update the design for the monthly planners, I hope I’ll get it done in the next few months.

Happy goal setting and planning for the new year 2024!
