Want to achieve your goals, live according to your core values, check off those items on your bucket list and reach your dreams? Super! Creating a vision board is a powerful way to keep you motivated and engaged to do just that.

A vision board is a great tool to stay focused and keep your eye on the bigger picture and what’s most important to you.

It’s like your personalized wish list – a collection of what you want in life. Or like making New Year‘s resolutions and personal goals throughout the year.

When you have a clear picture of what you want, it’s easier to take action towards your life goals.

When you create a vision board, you are essentially creating a roadmap for your life. You are putting your goals and dreams into physical form, allowing you to focus on them daily and see them more clearly.

The best way to create a dream board is to get clear on your values and what’s important to you. Once you have that figured out, you can start brainstorming images and words representing those values and what you want to manifest in your life.

Putting your vision board somewhere where you’ll see it every day can give you the motivation and inspiration to stay focused on what you want.

What is a vision board?

A vision board is a collage of images, words, phrases, and quotes representing your ideal life and what you are personally aspiring to create or achieve.

For example, if you want to travel more, find pictures of exotic locations that inspire you. And if you’re going to be healthier, find photos of healthy people and foods.

What makes a good vision board?

A good vision board is tailored to your specific desires and goals. It should be filled with images and words that inspire you and make you feel excited about what the future holds.

There are no rules regarding what will work on your vision board or how many images or words you should include. You may find that a couple of pictures is enough, or you may like to have a dozen.

When creating your vision board, it’s essential to be very clear about what you want to manifest in your life.

Be specific and mindful when creating a vision board

Be as specific as possible, and focus on things within your power to change. Don’t put any limitations on yourself, and let yourself dream big.

As long as the images are meaningful to you and inspire, motivate or make you happy, then add them to your vision board.

The most important thing is to believe in yourself and your ability to create the life you want. So get out there and start manifesting.

Mood board

If you’re not into goals and dreams but would like to be inspired, feel good, and stay motivated, you can create a mood board instead of making a vision board about your goals and dreams.

Add pictures and words to your mood board that motivate, inspire you, help you stay focused on what is important to you, and are aligned with your core values.

What to put on your vision board

You can put anything and everything on your vision board that inspires you, you desire or want to achieve: short and long-term goals, living life according to your core values, items on your bucket list, and dreams.

Vision boards are visual tools, so the important thing is to create what you want to see in your life.

Visualize it often until it becomes your reality because the power lies within you to manifest everything on your dream board.

And the way to do that is to add pictures and images, affirmation, small items, quotes, and words on a physical board or create a digital vision board by using an app like Trello.

How to get the most out of your vision board

Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your vision board:

Tip #1: Select images and words that truly resonate with you

To get the most out of your vision board, select pictures that represent what you want in different parts of your life – finance, family life, general goals for yourself. Add to your vision board whenever you see any images or words that inspire you.

Tip #2: Keep a digital version of your board

You might also find keeping a digital version handy helpful because it’s easy to update, and you can collect ideas and inspiration. Or take a photo of your board so you’ll always have it with you on your phone.

Tip #3: Look at your board often

The main thing is to put your vision board somewhere where you’ll see it every day.

Looking at your board in the morning and taking a glance at it multiple times a day is a great way to keep yourself motivated and focused on what you want.

Tip #4: Update when needed

And to make sure your vision board is helping you throughout the year, update it whenever needed.

Add more images and words, take away those that don’t serve you anymore and are not aligned with your hopes and dreams.

Things happen, and you and your dreams and goals might change. Change your vision board as well.

Do vision boards work? – Why make a vision board

Vision board is an incredibly powerful personal growth tool for manifesting your desires.

When you create a vision board, you’re essentially creating a roadmap to your goals.

5 Reasons to create a vision board

There are many reasons you might want to consider creating a vision board. Here are just a few:

1. A vision board can help you clarify your goals and desires.

2. It can serve as a reminder of what you want to achieve in life.

3. It can help keep you motivated and focused on your life goals.

4. It can help keep you inspired and accountable.

5. It can be used as a tool for manifesting your dreams into reality.

The most critical part of using a vision board is making sure that all the images and words on it resonate with you on a deep level.

If you don’t feel excited or inspired by what’s on your board, then it’s probably not going to help you achieve your goals. So take some time to really think about what you want in life, and find pictures and words representing those desires.

To reach your goals and dreams, you need to also feel them.

Imagine the moment when your dreams have come true and your goals have been achieved. What do you see? What do you think and feel at that moment? What do you hear people saying? What do you say?

Just looking at your vision board won’t make things real.

But it can be a powerful tool to help you have clear direction and create action steps towards the life you dream about.

Cutting images and words from a magazine is not everyone’s cup of tea. That’s why you can modify your vision board, simplify it to just have a few things, make it digital, whatever works for you.

There’s not just one way of reaching your goals and living your dream life, but whatever might get you there faster and easier – like creating a vision board – is worth giving a shot.
